Tea Tree Essential Oil for Ethnic Hair Care

Tea tree oil contains no harsh chemicals, which allows it to reduce and prevent hair loss. It unclogs and nourishes your hair follicles, giving your hair a good environment to grow and become strong.

When you hear the term dead skin cells, you automatically associate it with your face and body. Well, your scalp is also challenged with dead skin cells, you know it as dandruff. Dandruff can cause clogged pores resulting in a rash of scaly, dry skin on your scalp.

When not treated, it can cause build up on your scalp and in your hair follicles, resulting in temporary hair loss.

Medicine Chest in a Bottle

Tea tree oils is called the "Medicine Chest in a Bottle". The oil is well known in natural and alternative medicine for its antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effects. It's also been known to stimulate your immune system.

A must for your traveler's medicine kit, Tea tree has proven to be particularly effective in the treatment of Candida infections in many regions of your body. Tea Tree oils's wide spectrum of action has made it traditionally useful in treating mouth sores and gums, for acne and for fighting respiratory infections.

Tea Tree has a wonderful property of effectively fighting infections without harming tissues. It can be used "neat", which means you can put it directly on your skin, for small cuts and scrapes.

Many parents mix it 50/50 with Lavender for a soothing, natural anti-bacterial treatment for their young ones. This blend may be applied directly to injuries, and will both soothe the area and prevent infection.

Tea Tree oil became recognized, according to the British Medical Journal in 1933, as ' a powerful disinfectant, non-poisonous and non-irritating'.

Why does Tea Tree work? Because it gets rid of the microorganisms that can thrive on your scalp and contribute to flaking skin in your head.

While your scalp and hair are not the only body parts that can benefit from the use of Tea Tree oil, it's certainly a great place to start when working with this essential oil.

That's it for this week, as always ...
