• The White Garden -- it is the most famous garden, filled with white-flowering plants and grey-leafed plants such as lamb's ear and Artemisia.
• The Cottage garden with its red and orange flowers is the first garden that Vita created at Sissinghurst.
• The The Rose garden is the second-best-known garden room at Sissinghurst, after the white garden. The best time to see the rose garden is in June and into early July, as Vita preferred the old-fashioned roses that generally don't have a second flowering.
• The wonderful purple border with its irises and geraniums
• Admire the views from the tower. Vita Sackville-West established her office in the tower, where she wrote books and garden columns for English newspapers and magazines. From the top of the tower, you can see beautfiul vistas of the Sissinghurst gardens. And you'll be able to appreciate the structure of the garden in the form of tightly clipped yew hedges. Her husband established the structure of the garden, usually with hedges and trees, creating a formal look to the garden rooms. Then Vita filled the 'rooms' with exuberant flowering plants.
• Lastly the Herb garden which contains over a hundred varieties of herbs. It is said that Vita could close her eyes and identify any herb simply from its fragrance.

The best times to visit are weekdays but the garden is closed in the winter. Check the web site for directions and hours.
