5 Questions To Your Perfect Fitness Program

Fitness and weightloss marketing is intended to get you excited and motivated to buy, but whether a program is good for you or not has nothing to do with promises of a new body in just 6 weeks, money and prizes for the best transformations, or celebrity endorsements. If you're one of the many who has purchased a diet and fitness program that didn't work out or you simply feel intimidated by the millions of diet books, fitness dvd's, and exercise gadgets on the market then this quick fitness product guide is for you. Just answer the 5 simple questions below and you'll know whether you should try it or keep looking.

Can you stick to an extreme diet?
Programs like Power90 and Six Week Body Makeover, are great for getting quick results but they often require major sacrifices on your part. Some of these programs do require you to eat more food and eat more often but the food choices are very limited because the point of these programs is to get quick results. If you have an incredible will power or you feel that you're at a point in your life where the sacrifice is worth it then this type of program is definitely for you. If you are already thinking of ways to cheat something like 8 Minutes in the Morning for Extra-Easy Weight Loss: Guaranteed to shed 2 pounds a week (No equipment required, No calories counting, No deprivation) may be a better option.

How much time do you have?
Body for Life and The Abs Diet provide many testimonials of people who were overweight and unfit and are now ultra lean and competing in bodybuilding shows. Both are great for highly motivated and dedicated people but there are just as many people who have tried these programs who still look they way they did when they started. Why? Because these programs demand a lot from you. Goal setting, planning meals ahead of time, supplementation, and daily (sometimes twice daily) workouts. Ask yourself if you are ready to dedicate lots of time to your weightloss and fitness efforts. If your answer is an honest yes then go right ahead. If you're answer is maybe or no, you may want to try something less demanding like Bob Greene's Total Body Makeover : An Accelerated Program of Exercise and Nutrition for Maximum Results in Minimum Time.

Do you like working out?
Beach Body, and The Firm are both great, if you're into working out, but think about all the gadgets and videos you've bought in the past and whether they just sat there and collected dust. If you are not that serious about working out but you're trying to be, going with a less aggressive program is a better option. Instead try Quick Fit : The Complete 15-Minute No-Sweat Workout.

How much weight or body fat do you have to lose?
Winsor Pilates and 8 Minute Abs provide great core and ab workouts but they are meant to be used in combination with a healthy diet and activities that burn major calories such as walking and resistance training. Ask yourself if you will be able to handle those other aspect of your health and fitness program on your own? If the answer is no then try a program that addresses all the components of fitness and weightloss like Kathy Kaehler's Celebrity Workouts : How to Get a Hollywood Body in Just 30 Minutes a Day.

Do you like variety?
Core Secrets and Billy's Bootcamp are both definitely innovative and exciting but are you really the adventurous type? If you are a creature of habit who thrives on your set routine of walking and basic resistance training and are simply looking for something more challenging, then a similar workout is what you need.
