Irish-American Artist

Grace O'Donnell has been an artist since she was very little. She "nicked" her elder brothers' and sisters' crayons, water colors, and pens to make her mark on the world. As she had many brothers and sisters, she had plenty to work with.

As a teenager, Grace practiced her craft in a most practical way. She reproduced popular album covers on the back of friends' jean jackets. When there were no jean jackets to decorate, she too the front and back pages of the many books in the house to use for her artwork. Now she stretches her own canvasses and does her own framing, thinking about how she will frame a piece even as she works on the painting.

All the while, Grace was painting scenes of Ireland from memory, photographs, and art books in water colors, pen and ink, ink and wash, and oils. Her many travels to Ireland and beyond have given her an excellent eye for authenticity in landscapes, seascapes...country life, even "Pawtraits" of your pets.

Grace's artwork has been seen at many galleries on the Jersey Shore through the years. Now it is a pleasure to announce the opening of Grace O'Donnell's own space, West Park Gallery, 714 West Park Avenue, Oakhurst, New Jersey 07755. Telephone: 732-222-1773. E-mail: Odonnellart@aol.com.
