When wearing your hair down, set it with hot rollers to form loose curls. Comb your hair back off your face and arrange it so that the curls and waves frame both your face and the hat. Put on the hat so that it sits firmly on your head. Unless your hair retains its body exceptionally well, or you wear it perfectly flat, you will not be removing the hat until you return home.
You may want to also wear your hat with an updo. It can be a challenge combining the two elements but can be very attractive.

Wearing the hat low on the forehead often makes it unnecessary to wear bangs. The brim provides the accent needed across your forehead. This is a very chic and sophisticated look. Sweep all your hair off your face and spray it to hold it securely. You don't want any strays peaking out during the reception. Pull your hair back into a low chignon or cluster of curls. The hat is also attractive when worn with a low pony tail.

Another option is to wear your hair in either one or two sleek buns or curl clusters. Gather your hair into two pony tails at the back or your head. They should be about two inches apart and about an inch above your hairline. Use a small curling iron to create curls. Tease them a little if needed and arrange the curls around each pony tail. If your hair is thick enough and long enough, make the curl clusters large enough to fill in the area beneath the brim of the hat. If your hair is of medium length, don’t use bands for the pony tails, use bobby pins to secure the hair.
When you want to wear a stylish hat to the wedding but you feel uncomfortable without bangs tip your hat back. You will have to make sure that your chignon or cluster of curls is kept low so as clear the brim of the hat.
