Goldeneye Rogue Agent PS2

Goldeneye Rogue Agent PS2 had awesome graphics and gameplay when it first came out. If you're playing it in current times, you might be less impressed with the blocky textures.

Goldeneye Rogue Agent

We're generally strong fans of the Bond series of games. Yes, some of them have been iffy, but some of them have been amazingly addictive. In general the Bond theme means you get lots of shooting, intriguing environments, addictive characters and fun puzzles as well. It's a good mix. The question is solely how game designers are able to implement it.

Gameplay here is fairly typical. Roam through areas, gather up a variety of guns, shoot bad guys before they shoot you. The sounds are generally techno-music which isn't quite what I'd expect from a Bond series. Depending on your musical tastes you can tolerate it or hate it.

Graphics - as mentioned this was good when the game first came out, but in modern times it really looks a bit old. The characters are very blocky, the textures are very redundant. If this was a stellar game that you couldn't find currently it wouldn't matter - but since there are many shooters out there, I'm not quite sure why you'd go "back in time" to play one with poorer graphics.

Fun to own if you want to collect all the Bond games and play them to see how they compare with each other and how the series progressed over time. But if you're sitting here currently thinking about buying this vs buying the many other shooter games that are available, I'd say to go with something else. You get far better sounds, better integration of puzzles and characters, and of course much better graphics. It was a good game for its time, but progress has moved on.
