Obese Walkers should stroll.

If you are one of the 1.5 billion obese people in the world - and more than 50 million Americans are – you need to get more movement into your life to become healthier and fitter. There is a simple solution

Start to stroll. Strolling is walking at a leisurely pace (with your arms held loosely at your sides).

Recent research studies have shown that obese people actually use up more calories strolling gently for half an hour than if they were walking at a brisk pace for 15mins.

How to start

Strolling is good for you - so give it a try.

Once you can walk for 2 mins easily then increase your strolling from two minutes to three - you will gradually find it easier to stroll further without a rest.

  • Stroll for 3 minutes 5 out of every 7 days.

  • Slowly build up until you can stroll for 5 minutes – 5 days out of seven.

  • Check out Step Two

    Enjoy your walking!
