Biking is quickly becoming the preferred method of transportation for ubanites these days as well as dwellers in more remote areas. Biking trips are the new favorite way to get around classic destinations like Europe and parts of Asia, but it can be just as satisfying to travel by bike in the United States. The Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvannia region is another great cluster of states to explore this way.

Stay Home

Staying home may just be the most economical travel decision for most individuals, but that doesnít mean it has to be boring. The MidAtlantic area is home to a variety of vacation sport and leisure destinations. So consider, for example, the Blue Ridge Mountains that include substantial parts of Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. Rather than packing up and heading out to the Rockies out West, plan your trip for the natural wonders that await in your own backyard.

Water lovers will also have more than a few great choices along the coast to enjoy a vacation seaside. From Virginia Beach to Long Island, you can find wonderful shorefront hotels and inns at prices that wonít break your budget.

There are dozens of ways to avoid the crunch of high gas prices. And you donít have to sacrifice the pleasure of your vacation to do it. Traveling light on gas is also good for the environment.
