Repair Your Broken Powder Makeup

There you are, ready to put your face on when it happens. Your eye shadow goes tumbling down, and crumbles into a million pieces. Or maybe its not your eye shadow that falls but your face powder, the horror, how will you set your makeup now?

As you reach down to pick it up and toss it in the trash-STOP! That crumbled piece of dust can be saved. You can make those itsy bitsy, million pieces whole again in a few easy steps.

This will work for any pressed powder type of makeup (this includes powder eyeshadow, powder blush, pressed powder etc).

What you need

1. Toothpicks (or anything small enough that you can stir in an eye shadow pot.

2. Alcohol (save the vodka for drinking, for this repair you need rubbing alcohol at least 75% alcohol volume)

3. Spoon or small spatula (anything with a smooth surface will do, I sometimes use a small paring knife)

Procedure

1. Gather up your eye shadow, pressed powder or even your blush that’s broken.

2. If there is any solid pieces left in the container break those up into pieces using a toothpick. If you run out of toothpicks, a fork works just as well.

3. Add a few drops of alcohol to the container (just enough to make a paste)

4. Stir the powder until it becomes a paste with no lumps-make it smooth like cake batter.

5. Using the back of a spoon, press it into the container to smooth the powder out and make it look brand new.

6. Let it dry. Don’t worry about the alcohol leaving a smell. As the alcohol evaporates so will the odor.

There you have it ladies, so the next time your powder crumbles into a powdery mess, you can use the above method to salvage your favorite powder product.
