Beadwork Creates Earrings Edited by Jean Campbell,
is Interweave's most recent Beadwork Creates books, it is just as excellent as all the rest of them, with 30 earring projects that range from very simple to challenging, and it's just as inspiring as the rest of them, the projects and ideas make you wonder what else can be done using the techniques offered. I really love it, and it's already one of my favorites. One of the things I love best about this series of books is that there are so many designers involved, so you get a great cross sections of ideas, from fun to elegant, and from very simple to ornate and complex, even the colors chosen can be inspiring.
Crochet With Wire by Nancie Wiseman
is another current Interweave offering. It is exactly what the title says, it gives instruction for where to get wire, what types to get, how to crochet with it, and several projects including some that are beaded. The illustrations of the stitches are easy to understand, and the designs range from very delicate using seed beads to some pieces that are very bold. It explains very well start to finish. I'm an experienced crocheter, but I haven't worked with wire much, this book inspires me to try working with wire more, but it's also a good book for beginners who can follow diagrams well. I love the idea of making jewelry combining two of my favorite techniques. I do recommend trying the designs in craft wire to start with since metal prices have gone up so much in the last few years.
