If you're like me during the summer I used to try to find things for the kids to do to keep from being bored. Involving them in fun snacks or meals is a fun way to kill some time and they get to eat the tasty results too. Try some of these great fun time treats!
Bread paint
1/4 cup milk for each color you want to use
Food coloring
Get some new brushes and have the kids put milk into several little bowls. Add food coloring to create the colors you want and let them paint designs on their bread. Don't overload too much milk on the bread. Toast before eating. The kids will enjoy eating their own paintings.
Worms in Dirt
Some of you may have already seen or done these and the kids love them!
Chocolate sandwich cookies crushed
Gummy worms
Chocolate Ice Cream
Just take small disposable cups and fill 1/2 up with chocolate ice cream. Top with mixture of the "dirt" and worms into them. Put a few on top sticking out of the dirt for more fun!
Biscuit Grubby worms
Canned refrigerated biscuits
Flour
Raisins
Cinnamon Sugar
Take refrigerated biscuits and sprinkle a little flour on the table. Let the kids roll their biscuit into a long cigar shape. Brush with a little butter and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over "grubby worms". Have the children place two raisin "eyes" on the bread and pop them into a preheated over until baked.
Fun Shape Pizzas
These are so easy as the crust is made from refrigerated biscuits and the shapes are made with cookie cutters.
Refrigerated canned biscuits
Pizza sauce
mozzarella cheese
various toppings such as ham, pepperoni, crumbled cooked beef or sausage and veggie toppings
Preheat oven to 375ºF
Place individual biscuits on floured place mat and let the kids roll them out flat. Next they can use cookie cutters to make any shape pizza they like and spread on the sauce. Top with favorite toppings and cheese and let an adult place these in the oven until cheese is melted and crust is lightly golden.
Fun Shape Cinnamon Biscuits

Many of you will have heard of this simple fun snack for kids. Very tasty too!
Celery washed and cut into 4 inch sections
Peanut butter

Let the children fill the celery with peanut butter and sprinkle raisins on the "log" .. enjoy!
Can also be made with pimento cheese (a mixture of shredded cheese, mayo and sweet peppers)
Kid's Fun Veggie Pizzas
Now this recipe is a sure fire winner in my house and has been for years! I make the full large cookie sheet version for parties and it always gets eaten.
It's a great way to get kids to eat their veggies!

Topping:
Ranch Dressing mix
cream cheese softened
1 Tbsp milk
Chopped toppings:
Shredded cheese
diced ham
Raw veggies such as chopped tomatoes, green peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, finely chopped carrots
