Wedding Updo - M, E. Wood

BellaOnline's Large and Lovely editor, M.E. Wood (Moe) was married on July 22, 1995. The curly style updo she wore never goes out of style. It is as elegant now as it was then and is still worn by many brides as well as by teens on their way to the prom.

Moe's hair is brushed back and formed into curls. Start at the center back and form two or three curls that will be the foundation for the style. Keep pulling sections back and forming curls close to the previous curls. Secure them with bobby pins that are hidden inside the curls.

This is the length the hairdresser
worked with to create Moe's updo.
The spiral curls on the sides add softness and are an easy way to use shorter hair that may tend to fall if pulled back.

Moe's hairdresser created a style that gave the impression of very long hair. He backcombed everything on top of her head and smoothed the outer edge as he pulled it to the top. Moe has soft long bangs that personalize her style. This hair could easily be brushed back into the curls at the crown. Strands were left out at the bottom that he curled with a curling iron. The style was sprayed well with hairspray and she was set for her wedding day. If your hair is fine and soft, spray each curl with hairspray as it is put in place.
