I get overly excited anytime a book about any type of rug making comes out. In my humble opinion, there are just not enough books out there about this subject and I am hoping that in the future various artist will start to share more of their talents with us. Ok on to our new book The Knitted Rug
There is something for every skill level and I am overly impressed with the first 50 pages of the book. You will find information abou the history behind hand knitted rugs, a beautiful gallery, some knitting basics, special techniques, embellishments and accessories, and last but not least finishing touches. This is about the most complete how to get started section I have ever seen and I am certain that I will be referring to this section quite often, which makes this book a must have for your rug making library.
21 beautiful patterns skillfully arranged (this is my own opinion) to almost lure you into trying each and every one. If I had to pick a favorite I think it would the be the “Toe cozy bath mat” that certainly looks like it is very cozy for your toes. Of course that is not my only favorite. Since I love color, the “Simple Shaker Pinwheel” and the “Handspun Spiral” will probably very soon be gracing one of my floors. Of course all the patterns are very eye catching and she has covered just about every designing style which is another plus for this book.
