Being Authentic in Style

When it comes to style, all that needs to be said is ‘Just be yourself’. But, for information purposes, we will dig a little deeper.

The secret behind what makes models and style mavens so fierce is their authenticity. Have you ever doubted Kate Moss' style or Tracee Ellis Ross' originality? No. These two women stay true to themselves. Ms. Ross is a die-hard vintage queen and Kate Moss is the ever fabulous British Top Model. They own their aesthetic and so should you.

There is nothing wrong with feeling and looking beautiful. Doubting only leads to introversion, which many shy people hide behind. 'Can I wear this knee length dress? Do I really have the legs to pull this off?' These questions are a fear of being authentic. With this said:

Be Who You Are
Nothing is more cowardice than a person who mirrors someone's every fashion move. Style is meant for everyone. Simply choose your own. Sampling is fine here and there. But, if it becomes a profession, change your methods of finding inspiration.

Take Risks
Try on the yellow and plaid outfit that caught your eye at the boutique. You might be edgy and spontaneous after all, but will never find out by wearing the same old clothes. Bend a little.

Do Not Try Too Hard
The woman with the scarf, necklace, chain, bracelet and headpiece, is overdoing it. Accessories are awesome. However, in this case, less is more. Remove, at least, one item that may be overpowering your look. This may sound cliché, but, you wear the outfit; the outfit should not wear you.

Be Effortless
What are you comfortable with in fashion? Is it jeans, flats, trousers or heels? Maximize that particular style with a pop of color. Wearing what suits you best shows that you can look great in your go-to outfit without trying too hard.

Be Clean and Neat
Fashion attracts positive vibes, which is why sloppiness and filth do not go over well. They send off a careless message. Even though unseen, cleanliness is an important factor.

Don't make style complicated. Follow these simple tips and have a fashionable day!
