The weeks leading into 2010 promise to be as riveting as the weeks we have left behind. First Hope catches Bo and Carly almost kissing, and then she actually sees them in a lip lock! Whose arms do you think will catch her? You got it - Justin Kiriakis! Misery loves company. Boy what a tangled web we weave! Happiness does abound, however, as it appears, that they will most likely reconcile by May sweeps (if not May, then November). I think that every couple of years, they just need to have some dreamed up argument, sleep with other people, and then get back together. It seems rather native, really!
I am sure you have heard by today that Melanie and Phil are getting hitched. The decision to wed seems premature – but not as premature as the decision to wed immediately. Did Melanie even plan for the big day? Nay, Nay! As a Kiriakis, she has “people” to do that for her – Vivian and Victor – who are very happy to help in any way possible. However, an uninvited guest arrives with the intention of stopping the wedding; and still another nameless person who will do everything in his or her power to push the wedding forward. Phil and Nathan rumble over Melanie (she is such a lucky gal) and end up in the slammer.
E.J. sends Sami a text requesting that she meet him secretly – what about, I do not know. I truly believe that whatever he has up his sleeve, it is with the intention of taking out two birds with one stone – namely the Hernandez siblings, both of whom have been a thorn in his side from Day One. In addition, I believe that either Tony is alive and/or E.J. is somehow in on this baby-napping thing so that he can manipulate Sami away from Rafe and back into his lair. Remember, Sami sees Rafe as her hero because he is the one who figured out about the baby switch in the first place. E.J. wants so desperately to be Sami’s hero – her knight in shining armor. Anna is being told how to write the ransom letter (she said it was a tedious way to write a letter – meaning it is not one she would have chosen to do herself). She sends the disjointed ransom note, and Rafe ends up interfering with the exchange and we have a Bo and Hope scenario all over again (it wouldn’t be so bad had this storyline had not just been played out this past year). Of course, we know that Roman is onto Anna. He and she will always share an unbreakable bond – it is that quiet knowing.
While Salemites seem to be at one another’s throats, they repeat one mantra: “It’s all for family!”
