God's Assasins

“Which Part of us do you want to die?”
“ The part of me that wants to understand that which is hidden, the part of me that fights for life when it should die, the part of me that will never find peace and seeks its own life apart from God, the part of me that will not yield. This part of me I want to die.”

God’s Assassins explores the deep meaning of our existence here on earth with and without God. A novel written from the point of view that we are all part of a spiritual battle whether we know it or not. Mark Paradise has taken this thought and put it into motion in this story of John Mills. As God’s chosen one to fight the ultimate battle of good vs. evil, John is tormented with the sins of his past and fights to overcome them in order to lead the Knights of Templar into battle against Satan himself to stop the final war to end all wars in the world. All of this because it is not God’s time yet.

This story incorporates some themes which are fictional and have no base in reality but does it in such a way as to lead the reader to think long and hard about the bottom line. I was left with a decision; I had to decide again whose side I wanted fight on and I asked the Lord again to strengthen me so that I wouldn’t be overcome by the temptations of this world.

One of the greatest descriptions of Satan’s thoughts toward humans can be found in this book. The following is just a small exert of this discourse:

“…His love for himself ultimatly outshone his love for God.

It was this vanity that had encouraged him to challenge the wisdom of God. Why should he, the most beautiful creation in the universe, be lower than a human? Humans, he hated them. They were worthless pieces of mud, made from the leftovers of the universe, unlike himself and the rest of the host of Heaven who had been created from the very essence of virgin stardust. They were the first, they were the most glorious, and for aeons had the ear of God, only to be usurped by these maggots, these primates, these worthless sacks of waste called humans. And then, only to make matters worse, God Himself declares that he was to become one of them, that He was to die for them. As far as Satan was concerned, that would be ridiculing everything the Godhead stood for. It was beyond comprehension. Why would God belittle Himself in such a way? Even unto death?...

It was plain to see that they were not worth the effort. Then maybe, just maybe, he could be reconciled, but, and this had become an increasing anxiety, the time drew short, and when the end becomes clearer, and you are on the losing side, greater, and more desperate measures get called for. Genocide, legalised abortion, world wars, sickness, greed, selfishness, hedonism, hatred, all these things he motivated, encouraged and increased...

If you didn’t know before who your enemy was and how he sees you, this book will give you a healthy does of what Satan wants and why and show you just how deceptive the enemy can be. I know I learned a lot just from reading this story. Mark Paradise has created a book of worth. I reccommend that you read this one!
