The “Lord of the Rings” saga continued in 2002’s “The Two Towers”. The fellowship finds itself battered and separated into three factions but its members are nowhere near defeated. As Frodo and Sam try to carry the ring to Mordor, they come across the mysterious Gollom who comes along as their guide. Merry and Pipin, who were captured by the Uruk-Hai escape to the safety of Fangorn Forest while Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli try to help the people of Rohan, whose king has come under the evil spell of Wormtongue who is working for Saruman. Here are some movie mistakes to look for while watching “Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers”.
∙ Near the beginning of the movie, there is a cut on the right side of Merry’s forehead. When he climbs Treebeard in Fangorn Forest, the cut is on the left side.
∙ Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli approach King Theoden after they arrive in Rohan. In the front view, when they enter the great hall, Gandalf’s staff is under his right arm and is horizontal with the floor. In the back view, his staff is vertical. Also during this scene, in the front view, Legolas can be seen holding onto Gandalf’s left arm. But in back views, he’s not touching him at all.
∙ Saruman goes to check on the Orcs. In the front view, Saruman’s staff is in his right hand. But when he stops to talk to the Ork, the back view shows his staff in his left hand.
∙ Aragorn is dreaming of Arwen. In the close-up of them kissing, Aragorn’s left hand is on her face. In the side view, it’s on her waist.
∙ Aragorn and Gimli are outside the fortress during the Battle of Helm’s Deep. Legolas uses the rope to pull them up. Aragorn grabs Gimli with his right arm. But in the close-up of Aragorn when he looks down, Gimli is on his left side.
