The website for the book Silent Grief by Clara Hinton does much more than simply promote the book. It's an excellent resource for anyone who's had a miscarriage. SilentGrief.com does promote the book by the same title, however it includes many other useful features as well.

The first thing you see when you enter the site's homepage is “You have found help” in large letters. This is a good way to start I think since miscarriage can be so devastating and it may seem like no one understands. The site includes a daily healing thought and a daily inspirational message. You can also sign up to receive free weekly emails “of encouragement” called Hope of the Day. This is a feature I haven't seen on too many other miscarriage websites.

The site also includes an archive of articles arranged by who they primarily relate to, such as for fathers, for mothers, for friends etc. There are over 100 articles to choose from. Like many other miscarriage support websites, it includes message boards and a place where you can share your story. This section includes over 600 stories and poems. I've found it can be tremendously helpful to read other people's stories. Because miscarriage and infant loss can feel so isolating, it can make you feel better just to know that other people may have had similar experiences.

The site has a resources page as well. This pages lists books and offers links to other sites which deal with pregnancy and infant loss. Finally, the site offers a store where you can purchase the book “Silent Grief” and other inspirational items.

Clara Hinton, author of “Silent Grief” said she wrote the book after her first miscarriage. She said that “aside from losing the baby, was the feeling that I was going through this deep unrelenting pain all alone.” This is a sentiment I think many of us can relate to after the experience of miscarriage. Hinton says the website evolved from the book. I haven't had the opportunity to read the book yet, however, I would definitely recommend the website.
