- Brown construction paper
- something to write with
- large craft stick or popsicle stick
- glue
- crayons or markers
Have your child lay their hand down flat, with fingers spread, on the construction paper. Trace around their hand.
Carefully cut out the hand.
Now, it's time to color the feathers and face. The thumb on the construction hand is the turkey's head and the four fingers are the tail feathers.
When the turkey is colored, glue it to one end of the craft stick.
**Options:
Pick up feathers at the craft store and glue them on to the tail fingers. You can also add a feather on the side for a wing.
Dip n Dye the craft stick by putting a few drops of food coloring in cold water and mixing well. Dip the craft stick in the water and let sit until it absorbs the dye and changes the color of the craft stick.
Buy the craft sticks that come in different colors to make the Turkey more colorful without additional work.
If you don't have craft sticks, go outside and pick a few sticks that will be sturdy enough to hold on too and thick enough to glue the construction paper on. The stick should be about 6 or so inches long.
