Three Great Photography Apps For Your iPhone

The iPhone camera is a great little camera to use and if you happen to have one, then it is also the camera that is always with you. With so many great apps available you can be take images, edit and manipulate your photos on the go and upload your favourites to your social media site from wherever you are.

There are so many apps available for the iPhone that it might be hard to decide which to try out first. Here are 3 photography apps for your iPhone that are definitely worth looking into.

Adobe Photoshop Touch

The Adobe Photoshop touch app lets you combine multiple images on your phone by using layers. A tool in the app called “scribble select” lets you extract elements of your images (such as the background) so that you can create composite images. You can then add text, filters and Photoshop blend modes as well as change the contrast of your image using a tool called curves. There are quite a few different tools available for you to use in this app, so it might take a little longer to get used to than some of the simpler apps on the market. If you already use Photoshop then it should be fairly easy for you to get to grips with. All of your projects can be synched with Adobe’s creative cloud (Adobes online cloud storage service) so you can create on your phone and pick up where you left off on your desktop in Photoshop. Once you are happy with your images you can email them from your phone or share them on your social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter. It’s a great app to have some fun with and a chance to be really creative without being tied to a computer!

Camera+

Camera+ is a smart little app that helps you to take better photos. Adding this app to your iPhone will definitely help you get better looking images from your phone. This app has a stabilizer so that you can take sharper images, burst mode so that you can photos in rapid succession and a timer for when you want to take artistic self-portraits or get in the shot yourself. Some of the other main features are a digital zoom and the ability to separate the focus from the exposure, so that you can choose the brightness or darkness of your images. And if you need help with your composition there is a rule of thirds grid too.
Once you have shot your images the app has plenty of filters and tools so that you can manipulate your images to get the final look you want.
When you are finished editing you can manage your photos and any imported images easily, in the Lightbox. You can then drill down into the information such as the ISO, focal length, size of the image etc. if you want to remind yourself how you took your photos.
Sharing to social media or emailing is easily done within the app. Camera+ really is a worthwhile addition to your iPhone to get more out of your images!

Dubble

Dubble is a photography app that is a little different. Rather than you controlling your photo, your images are merged with another user’s photo from the Dubble community, to make a new photo in the form of a double exposure. As you can imagine, there are a lot of very interesting results as the two photos are chosen randomly and then merged. As it is a not just an app but a community you are joining, you can “like” photos, share photos and comment on photos from other people’s profiles.

With so many apps for photographers to use on their iPhones, it is hard to narrow it down to a few but I hope that you enjoy these recommendations and take some time out to experiment. Enjoy!
