How To Hire A Personal Trainer

The best way to determine whether you need to hire a trainer is to answer the following questions.

How motivated are you? If you’re the type of person who makes all types of excuses for not working out then hiring a trainer who will be expecting you to show up could make all the difference in the world. A trainer will call you to confirm your appointment and will motivate you to workout even when you don’t feel like it. The same goes for those who have no problem showing up but who don’t push themselves hard enough. A trainer will never allow you to give less than 110% and this usually leads to great strength gains, more fat loss, and better health.

How much do you know or are you willing to learn? Most people don’t have time (and sometimes the desire) to read all the latest on fitness, nutrition, and supplements much less decipher the fact from the fiction. A trainer keeps up with all the latest trends, reads all the latest research, books, and magazines, and most importantly takes continuing education units from reputable organizations in order to maintain certifications current. This provides you, the client, with the maximum amount of knowledge available. In addition you will never have to waste your time with ideas or concepts that don’t apply to you because your trainer will only provide you with the individualized information that you need to accomplish your goals.

How much time and money do you want to save? People often shy away from hiring a personal trainer because of the expense. A trainer can charge anywhere from $30-$200 an hour depending on their credentials and experience. Some trainers and health clubs even require that you buy packages that run $1000 for 16 sessions. This may sound like an outrageous expense to some but think about all the time you’ve already wasted in the gym working out in all the wrong ways and not getting the results you want. Paying a trainer means that you’re investing in their knowledge to get you results faster. You’ll quickly learn how to work out correctly and more efficiently. You’ll avoid overuse injuries that are all too common with people who don’t know what they’re doing and can cost you hundreds of thousands in rehab therapy.

How good do you want to look? Even the greatest looking movie stars and body builders have trainers because a trainer with experience knows different body types and what frequency, duration, type, and intensity of exercise will produce the best and fastest results in certain body types. They are also objective about your appearance and can point out areas that need more work and areas that are progressing exceptionally. Those who do it alone often lack this type of objectivity and end up over-developing certain parts while neglecting others, which not only makes for a freakish appearance but can also lead to imbalances and injuries. A trainer will always look out for you so that you can develop your best body in the fastest amount of time.

How Can You Make It Affordable? So you’re completely convinced that you should hire a trainer but you just don’t have the money. A great option for those who need to save money is challenging home workout system like P90X Extreme Home Fitness with Tony Horton - Set of 13 DVDs, Calendar, Fitness Guide, Nutrition Guide, & Workout Log
