If you're tired of the same old comedy movie fare that seems to repeat itself over and over again in today's comedy movies, don't fret. There are hundreds of wonderful comedy movie classics waiting to be enjoyed.I was fortunate enough to come across a Lucille Ball movie marathon a few weeks ago and saw for the first time 'A Girl, a Guy, and a Gob.' I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. This 1941 movie classic stars Lucille Ball, George Murphy, and Edmond O'Brien.
The story centers around an executive assistant (Lucille Ball) who is dating a sailor nicknamed 'Coffee Cup' (George Murphy). He's a very physical comedian. His goofy antics and non-stop energy are hilarious. Surprisingly, Lucille Ball isn't the star comedian in this film. Some of the funniest scenes include her boss (Edmond O'Brien) and boyfriend.
This film is not yet available on DVD. If you're lucky, you can grab a used VHS copy off of Amazon.com or EBay. I have added this film to my top favorites list. Don't miss this wonderful romantic comedy. This is definitely one of my favorite Lucille Ball movies so far.
