I have often heard it said that it is easier to write about something or someone that you know and understand. I know endo “up close and personal”. I have come “full circle” with the horrible disease that over 90 million women suffer with world wide, endometriosis.
I first saw symptoms at 18 and I did rely on the medical profession to assist with the terrible pain and symptoms. It was 12 years before I was correctly diagnosed, by myself. As it goes with endo, I had numerous surgeries and prescriptions that did not help. During this time, I was blessed with a miracle baby, Kari, and she still amazes me. I did have a complete hysterectomy at 34 that was extremely complicated.
My daughter at the age of 16 was correctly diagnosed with endo after numerous specialists and tests that she endured. We had been told by so very many ob/gyn’s over 5 years that she was too young to get endo and by keeping her on birth control, she would not get endo. I always, always suspected endo, but I was still relying on the ob/gyn professionals. I have learned so very much over the last 2 years in my battle to save my daughter from a disease that can destroy our bodies and our lives.
I firmly believe that “knowledge gives us the power to make informed decisions”. So with this in mind, I am writing to give knowledge of a positive treatment, Letrozole (Femara) as an option for endo. My faith in this treatment is unwavering as I have lived and seen the miracle with Kari. At the age of 16, Kari became the youngest female with the greatest severity of endo to begin the Letrozole treatment on February 18, 2004 to become free of endo. My daughter will never have to walk in my shoes for she is living the life of a normal teen. This young lady just 2 years ago was living the life of an invalid and gave up everything in her life.
I have been blessed, for my daughter is now well and Kari has opened the door for many, many others to follow. I would like to invite you to review our web site www.KARE2004.com for more information on Kari and this wonderful treatment. Letrozole is not a guarantee for everyone, but it is the best treatment available and does hold so much promise for most. Perhaps, the aromatase inhibitor will be our saving grace...time will tell its story for Kari is doing great 8 months off the treatment.
