We all dream of shiny, healthy hair. After all, it is what most of us desire. Bad news, with all the horrible things some of us do to our tresses, it is no wonder that our locks resemble something you find in your garden at the end of summer.
Good news is healthy hair is easy to achieve as long as you follow some basic guidelines. Make certain your diet consists of all the main food groups to ensure balanced nutrition. Get adequate sleep and drink six to eight glasses of water a day. You give your body a massage, do the same for your scalp – your hair will love you for it! Stimulation of your scalp will boost circulation which aids in healthy hair, growth and condition.
Instead of rushing out and buying the latest hair conditioner or rinse promising you everything tied up in one nice little bottle, try making your own. By using all natural herbal rinses, you will keep your hair clean and well nourished.
By collecting herbs from your garden or from the tea isle in your local grocery store, you can have those treasured tresses you have only dreamed about.
Basic Recipe for Rinses
2 cups of boiling water
1 / 4 cup of your choice (choose 1) sage, chamomile, calendula or mint
*Pour boiling water over herb of choice, stir well and let stand until completely cool. Strain herbs and pour herbal liquid into a clean container (great way to reuse those old shampoo and conditioner bottles).
*When you have finished washing your hair, pour herbal rinse over your hair and comb through. Do not rinse out. Style as usual.
*Sage rinse is great for brunettes as it helps to naturally darken hair and even cover greys.
*Chamomile is great for lighter hair as it can liven up dull colour and give off highlights.
*Calendula is great for blonds, brightening hair like a day out in the sun!
