New From Jingles International

by Lynne Chapman

My review this month is of new hair care products from Jingles International. I began my Jingles experience with part of their new shampoo line - Harmony Moisturizing Shampoo, designed for dry, damaged and chemically treated hair.
It has a light scent, luxurious pearlesent texture and a nice sudsing quality even when using a small amount. It left my hair soft and tangle free.

I always use a conditioner after a shampoo, so I chose Jingles Intensive Treatment Conditioner. You can read my review of this product at Jingles International – A Review.

I was looking forward to testing Jingles’ two new styling pomades. I chose Jingles Jam Pomade Take 1, for light to medium hold, as my first trial. This comes in a firm, dry wax-like form and is an iridescent lavender color with tiny sparkles. I took a small amount on my fingers and then rubbed my hands together to emulsify and disperse the pomade. Scrunched into the ends of my hair, the pomade took away the flyaway frizzy appearance and when I ran my fingers through my hair, it added texture, separation and shine. I liked the control it offered, while staying flexible.

Being happy with Take 1, I picked Jingles Jam Pomade Take 2 for medium to strong hold. Orange and sparkly in appearance, and soft wax in form, this pomade gave a heavier, defined look for a more avant-garde appearance but still remained flexible. It was not excessively overpowering to my fine hair but would be better suited for hair that is of a heavier and coarser texture.

I was satisfied that both Jam Pomades work well on straight hair so I decided to put them to one more test.

After shampooing my hair again, I allowed it to dry in its naturally curly state. Normally when my hair is dried naturally the repeated manipulation of it with my fingers will fan out the curls and cause a frizzy appearance. This time both of the Jingles Jam Pomades were useful. I carefully applied the Jam by scrunching it into the ends and using my fingers to apply it to individual curls. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could run my fingers through my hair without creating frizz or disturbing the individual curls and that each Jam worked equally well.

Add bright colored packaging (that looks great on my shelf) to the superior quality of the Jingles International line and you have an award winner.
