Stressed Out Hair

Your hair may be telling you that it has had too much. It is stressed out!
The symptoms of stressed hair.There are many causes. Yours could be caused from one of the following or a combination of two or more.
  1. Overlapped color – That’s when you don’t use the “Retouch” guide and every time you tint your hair, you put it on the entire strand, root to end. Or:You keep changing your mind about what color you want and as a result the same hair is processed over and over again. (You tint it dark and then bleach it out to blonde. Then before it is grown out, you tint it dark again.) This applies to combining highlights and tinting too many times too.
  2. Permed and re-permed hair. Too many perms too often without rebuilding the hair with protein conditioners can cause the structure of the hair to break down.
  3. Permed hair that is tinted or bleached. Hair that is very strong and in good condition can often be both tinted and permed. If your hair is not very strong, it must be re-conditioned between the processes. Hair can rarely be both permed and bleached with success.
  4. Sun exposure – Too much sun can destroy the hair shaft. The bleaching effect of the sun is just as damaging as a chemical service. It is especially damaging if the hair is tinted, chemically bleached or is permed.

If your hair is telling you that it has had enough, there is no quick fix (unless you cut it off) so be prepared to patiently and tenderly care for your hair until it returns to its natural health and beauty.
