Decor for Cacti and Succulent Gardens

A garden needs more than cacti and succulents to be complete. It’s the same principle as interior décor. This is called garden décor. After you’ve created your flower beds and mixed borders and hedges with cacti and succulents, then it is time to think about garden décor.

Little things count a lot. If we pay attention to detail, the result will be stunning gardens in which our cacti and succulents just seem to shine with beauty.

Garden décor would include all the non-plant things, such as garden art, garden ornaments. Utilitarian features would also be among these because fences, walls, and fences need not be plain.

Let’s start with paving. If you’re using concrete, there are numerous ways of adding decorative finishes to this material. Brick and stone can be arranged to create decorative patterns, such as herringbone.

Outdoor garden lighting can be simple to elegant. There are many kinds available, including solar-powered outdoor lights.

Personalize your garden in other ways. The difference in a great garden and an otherwise ordinary one is often in the attention to detail. Create your own personalized stepping stones and rocks. It is easy to do with the wonderful inspiring projects found in “Rock Hounds-Painting on Stepping Stones and Rocks” from Design Originals. By Linda Lover, this features many items for the garden. Among the motifs are ladybugs, dragonflies, and bees.

The author provides complete, step-by-step instructions for all the various techniques that are used for the projects. Each project is fully color illustrated with patterns and a full list of all the materials and paint colors you will need. There are floral stones, stepping stones, sentiment stones, blessing stones, and other ideas for rocks. You can even create an entire stone village or stone farm for garden décor.

In addition to this title, Design Originals has also published “Painting for Patios-for Home and Garden Décor.” This title features a vast array of different projects. These include colorful decorative plant picks as accessories for container gardens, stepping stones, painted pots, and painted garden stones. Some of these projects are just so clever. You can take appropriately sized and shaped stepping stones and terra cotta pots and place them to create a garden turtle or alligator. If you’ve ever wanted to know how to create pot people from terra cotta pots, this is your chance. There are also projects for birdbaths, wind chimes, fountains, welcome signs, painted porch swings, welcome signs, and much more. A number of different designers contributed these inspiring projects for this book. There are complete instructions, patterns, and lists of the various paints and supplies you’ll need to complete these delightful items for garden décor.

With these two books you can pretty well create most any kind of garden art or ornament you need for your garden.
