Final Fantasy - The movie was disappointing to some fans who were expecting a movie version of the video game. While it was a completely unrelated plot, it still was a fun movie to watch.

The graphics in this movie are just amazing. The way fabrics move, flame and mist swirl, and especially the human bodies are incredibly detailed.

The characters are not one-dimensional, nor are they perfect. They have a history and real relationships with each other. You can relate to them and why they do what they do. There isn't a mad enemy whose sole purpose is to destroy all life.

The plot is fun, although admittedly it has a few holes. It might not have the ending that most US audiences would hope for, but maybe that's a good thing.

Some violence, although the monsters are 'ghosts' so it's mostly ghosts dispersing, or the ghosts touching humans which sucks out their soul (as a 'ghost'). It has great themes to discuss together after the movie is done.
