Book Review on Ten Tatted Numbers

This e-book by Gillian Buchanan features patterns for ten tatted numbers in the style of the tatted alphabet which can be found at The Tatter's Paradise. The numbers include 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 and the patterns include full textual instructions and diagrams as well as scans of the completed lace.

Although they're written for shuttle tatting the patterns can easily be adapted for needle tatters and instructions are provided in the Introduction on ways of doing this.

The numbers will be useful for a wide range of purposes which include making cards and pictures, applique decorations and many other things.

The patterns include a little two shuttle work but are not difficult to make, and so they would be suitable for anyone who has mastered the basics of tatting and is ready to move into making slightly more advanced pieces. Two of the pieces include split rings and the others mainly cover lock joins and simple two shuttle work with thrown off rings.

This book will make a nice addition to any tatting lacemaker's library!
