Feng Shui Practitioner Training

People often ask how I trained to become a Feng Shui Master Practitioner, and what kinds of Feng Shui practitioner training options are available. These are my favorite questions because my 15-year career in Feng Shui has been so rewarding. Feng Shui is definitely a feel good profession because you get to help people change their lives. But, is it the right career choice for you? When you take a Feng Shui practitioner training course you prepare for a career that energizes and enhances the quality of life for you and your clients and that creates homes and offices with balance and harmony. And, in many areas of the US, a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner can earn $250-$500 an hour.

The story of how Feng Shui first came into my life starts with a trip to Hawaii when I was a public relations consultant running a successful home-based business. A friend brought me my first book on Feng Shui and we studied the complex advice in the book, befuddled by diagrams of baguas, descriptions of flying stars, and compass points where South is up and North is down. The more I read, the more confused I became. However, what I did understand was that my desk was facing the wrong direction. In Feng Shui, the most inauspicious position for a desk is sitting with your back to the door because you can actually and symbolically be caught off guard. And there I was, sitting with my back to the door. So, I turned my desk around. I didnít think much more about Feng Shui until two weeks later, when I received an offer to consult in Honolulu for a week. I presented my ideas and the client asked me to stay for a second week at their expense to work on the project.

Back home I reflected on my good luck in getting the consulting job in Hawaii. What made it happen? Could it have been the fact that I made one simple change in the placement of my office furniture? Was it simply luck, or had my Feng Shui improvement been responsible for my good fortune?

So I started reading about Feng Shui and enrolled in a Feng Shui course. I was hooked! I continued my studies, earning a Feng Shui Practitioner Certification from the Feng Shui Institute of America and Red Ribbon Professional status from the International Feng Shui Guild.

All of this leads back to the question of whether becoming a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner is the right career choice for you. There are many different schools of Feng Shui and many different perspectives, all valid, effective, and useful in their own way. The International Feng Shui Guild website offers many opportunities for you to explore Feng Shui training programs. The Guild believes that the differences between a professional Feng Shui training program are in the details, and that no matter which perspective interests you, there is no substitution for instruction by a highly trained, and seasoned professional. You can find shorter training opportunities in the Feng Shui Events section of the International Feng Shui Guild website, www.IfSGuild.org. I recommend you enroll in one practitioner training event and find out.

Over my career as a Feng Shui Master Practitioner, I have worked with thousands of clients, students, and readers, and I offer training courses and workshops in various locations.
