The Bill Engvall Show returns to TBS Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 9/8c. The show premiered in 2007, and then was placed on hiatus. Now the show has finally returned for another season.

The sitcom features Bill Pearson (Engvall) who plays a family counselor who has trouble figuring out his own family. His wife Susan is played by Nancy Travis, and the children are played by Jennifer Lawrence, Graham Patrick Martin, and Skyler Gisondo. Tim Meadows stars as Bill’s best friend.

Set in a Denver, Colorado suburb, the show reveals a humorous look at parenting in today’s world.

One of the most popular and prolific comedians today, William Ray Engvall, Jr. (Bill) was born July 27, 1957. He hailed from Galveston, Texas, attended college at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and worked as a disc jockey in Dallas. He currently lives in southern California with his wife and two children. One night while at a nightclub, he tried his hand at improvisation and realized he enjoyed making people laugh.

Engvall published an autobiography, Bill Engvall-Just A Guy, in May 2007. Along with the Bill Engvall Show, he is host of CMT’s top-rated Country Fried Home Videos, is one of the stars of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, The Movie; Blue Collar comedy Tour Rides Again; and Blue Color Comedy Tour – One for the Road.

He is well known for giving the Here’s Your Sign Award on the CMT show and during his comedy shows. He also has filmed movies such as Bait Shop, co-starring Billy Ray Cyrus, and Delta Farce with Larry the Cable Guy.

He was on the small screen in Blue Collar TV on The WB, and shot a special called Mobile Home Disasters for the same station. In addition to all of the above, he is also a recording artist. His first album, Here’s Your Sign went platinum, spending 15 straight weeks on the Billboard Comedy Chart. He has collaborated with a number of singers and comedians with great success.

Two of his solo specials aired on Comedy Central. One of the specials, Here’s Your Sign, Live was certified multi-platinum when it went to DVD.

He has appeared on episodes of Designing Women, Delta, and The Jeff Foxworthy Show, where he played Jeff’s best friend, as well as a number of appearances on the The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show.

This multi-award winning comedian is well received wherever he goes, and is known as an all around good guy. Due to his growing popularity as an entertainer, and the large number of DVDs and CDs available, Bill Engvall will entertain fans for many years to come.
