Based on Oscar Wilde's famous play, Lady Windermere's Fan, "A Good Woman" is the story of Mrs. Erlynne, a woman who has made a career out of seducing men.

It is mid 1930s and Mrs. Erlynne is still recovering from her last breakup. It was another sordid affair in a line of many, and once again, when it ends, she's broke. This time, she's unable to ignore the gossip and scathing comments made by her contemporaries, who look down on her lifestyle. Mrs. Erlynne then heads overseas, to a ritzy hot spot for the fabulously rich, hoping to find her next victim. She finds him right away. She is immediately attracted to Robert Windermere, but he is much younger and very married. This doesn't deter Mrs. Erlynne, who simply sees a challenge in the handsome Mr. Windermere.

Since she has already decided to pursue another man, Mrs. Erlynne ignores the advances of another man, the larger-than-life Lord Darlington. He is extremely taken with the seductress and agressively pursues her even though she makes it clear that she only has eyes for one man. Mrs. Windermere appears to be just as naive as her husband. When Lord Darlington is also flirtatious with her, she is flattered and overwhelmed. His flirtations temporarily obscure her to the fact that her husband is being pursued by a relentless adulteress. When she does break free of Darlington's spell, she realizes what's been on between her own husband and a more experienced woman, and decides to resolve things on her own terms.

This adaptation was directed by Mike Barker ("Best Laid Plans") and stars Helen Hunt as Mrs. Erlynne. Stephen Campbell Moore is Lord Darlington, Scarlett Johansson ("Lost in Translation") is Meg Windermere and Mark Umbers is Robert Windermere. "A Good Woman" is currently a limited release.
