I Love You to Death (Brava) by Amy Garvey is up first, with three new stories of murder and hot sex and blind dates. I have to say, I haven't enjoyed her previous works much, and this one didn't change my mind. I don't know if it's a voice thing, or a style issue, but I'm just not a fan of her work. If I want to read a mystery, I'm more likely to hit the mystery section of the bookstore than the romance, even with the promise of steamy sex to go along with it. The two just don't seem to me to mesh well enough. I'm sure someone will disagree with me; it won't be the first time. But this one is just not a keeper for me.
Bad Boys Ahoy! (Brava) by Sylvia Day is next, with three loosely related historical stories (though only one of these bad boys has a story set on the water), filled with sexy heroes and eager heroines. Don't look for anything more serious than steamy sex here; none of the conflicts are terribly difficult. But this one was fun and light, so it's earned three and a half of Cupid's five arrows.
Until next time, happy reading!
