December 18 2009 Homeschooling Newsletter

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I hope you are all relaxing with cocoa and cookies, after working so hard with your homeschoolers during fall semester. I know I am really ready to take a much needed break! :0)
The next newsletter will be the first week of January 2010, and it is then that I will announce more information about the first Homeschooling Book Club. If you have yet to read the article on this exciting read, check it out at
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art21506.asp
The author of the book, Marilyn Rockett, was kind enough to write a fantastic article titled "Holidays, Homeschooling and Less Stress!". Look for this article at http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art38700.asp
Email me or post in the forum for homeschooling at http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/116/1/Homeschooling if you want to partake in the book club. Of course, you can join in at any time, so don't feel you need to let me know ahead of time! I just enjoy hearing from readers about their excitement about reading this book with me! So far I have gotten quite a few responses, and the interest in becoming less stressed while homeschooling in 2010 seems to be rising.
I have lots of new articles online this week, plenty to keep you busy until the new year! :0) Wrapping up my gift ideas for homeschoolers theme, there is a new guide to "green" gifts for your eco friendly child. Visit http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art21504.asp for more information.
"Christmas in Italy" rounds out our study of "Christmas Around the World". You can find this article here: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art56053.asp

Hidden in the Science subject is another new article on Biomes. This is a lesson plan for you to try with your homeschooler. You can find this at
http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art320.asp
American Girl fans will be happy to see a mini unit study based on Felicity and Colonial Times. There is even a recipe for old fashioned "Breakfast Puffs", just like Felicity used to make! This article can be found in the History section, or here: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art55685.asp
Not to forget our older homeschool crew, there is a new article on free resources for your high school homeschooler. Find this here~ http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art3978.asp-

Please check out all of the subject areas if you haven't yet, and do visit the forum, too. There are ten new resources for homeschooling to add to your list, ranging from a free site with great educational games to a free printable coloring book!

I am excited to host the book club in 2010, and write alot more resourceful, educational and helpful articles for everyone. Have a blessed holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
