Lindsay Lohan stars in a new romantic comedy about how quickly one's luck can change. Lohan is Ashley Albright, a young socialite with everything going for her. She has a great life that all of her friends envy, she has no trouble attracting handsome men, and for her life is one big party. It's a party that changes all of that for Ashley. She attends a masquerade ball and dances with a handsome masked man. She is enchanted with her mysterious partner and when they kiss, sparks fly. A lot of other things happen when they kiss, including a realignment of the stars which means the end of Ashley's lucky streak.
Ashley's luck somehow switches with the young man's upon their kiss. She couldn't have picked a worse person to switch circumstances with. Jake Hardin (Chris Pine) has the worst luck in the world. He has a crummy apartment, a lousy job, and gets no sympathy or respect from anyone. So when his luck changes immediately after kissing Ashley, the change is a welcome one. Suddenly he has the life that he'd always envisioned: a great apartment, a fabulous job, and more.
Although Jake is happy, Ashley of course is not. She wants her luck back and she's determined to figure out a way to get it. When she meets Jake again without realizing that he's the masked man she once kissed, her life is in shambles. Eventually Ashley realizes who Jake is and what must have happened to her luck. Now she just has to figure out how to get it back, at Jake's expense.
