Healthy Energizing Foods

If you're one of the millions of people who suffer from the afternoon crash in energy, maybe it's time to try supplying your body with healthy nutrients to avoid the crash. Reaching for another cup of coffee can just give you another crash, instead try eating one of the healthy snacks listed below. Make sure you eat these snacks before the energy crash for best results.

Bananas

Bananas are high in B vitamins, which can supply your body with natural energy. Eating a banana daily can also help regulate your blood pressure, which can also help keep your energy levels up.

Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds contain high amounts of protein, iron and vitamin K, all of which can help you sustain focus and energy throughout the day. Try to eat the dry roasted type, either shelled or un-shelled.

Blueberries

To boost your memory, try eating a handful of blueberries if you're feeling mentally sluggish or tired. Blueberries are also full of antioxidants, protecting you from harmful free radicals.

Avocados

Because avocados are full of healthy fats, when eaten as a snack, they can help keep you energized and satiated over longer periods of time.

Figs

Figs are a great source of fiber, which can help increase your energy levels and manage your weight.

Almonds

Almonds are a delicious nut full of healthy fats and minerals like magnesium and phosphorus, helping you sustain your energy levels throughout the day. Regular consumption of almonds may also lower your cancer risk.

Strawberries

The antioxidant content of strawberries help improve your immune system, keeping you healthy and energized. Strawberries are also a good source of vitamin C, which can also increase your energy.

Quinoa

Quinoa is a whole grain, light and nutty in texture and full of essential amino acids. Because of it's high content of iron and B vitamins, quinoa also supplies the brain with plenty of blood flow, limiting that exhausted feeling.

Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut is fermented cabbage, used as a topping for many dishes. Because sauerkraut is a fermented food, it contains pro-biotics, or healthy bacteria. When our good and bad bacteria is balanced in our body, we will have more consistent energy levels.
