Graco SnugRide Car Seat - Metropolitan
I don't know what I would do without my car seats and stroller. Unlike pricey foreign strollers, which can run over $600 without the car seats, the Duo-Glider retails for around $150, and the car seats for around $90 each. If you buy the car seats at Burlington Coat Factory, you'll receive 20% off the second seat (twin discount), and at Babies-R-Us, you'll receive a 10% discount. The snug-ride car seats fit nicely into my minivan, using the bases provided with the seats. They fit equally well into my husband's Matrix, without the bases. The stroller claims to be a "one hand" fold-down stroller, but it's a bit heavy for most of us ladies to handle with just one hand. That said, it does fold down quite easily, but you'll need to work on your biceps to hoist it into the back of the minivan. You do have a minivan, right? If not…
Dodge Grand Caravan SXT Minivan with Stow-and-Go Seats
This mini-van saved my life, and I mean that in the most literal sense. After finding out I was pregnant, I bought a 2005 Grand Caravan. Four days later, a U-Haul truck blasted through a four-way stop and t-boned my Grand Caravan one inch behind my seat, totaling the vehicle. My son, who was in the back captain's chair, and I, the driver, escaped with only bumps and bruises. The van, of course, was a mess, but it had protected us. I went out the next day and bought another van just like the one that was totaled. Dodge has earned its good safety ratings. In another vehicle I could have been severely injured and/or lost the pregnancy. As it was, I was taken to the ER and received a diagnosis of TWINS (we hadn't known before the accident that we were having two).
Soothie Pacifiers

These pacifiers are used extensively in NICU's, and my babies were addicted to them by the time they left the hospital. They are all one piece, so they can't be bitten in half very easily. Also, they are available with little stuffed dogs attached to them so the babies can hold on to the soft animal while they suck on the pacifier. With twins, pacifiers are a necessity, unless you want to listen to one of them cry most of the time. Also, pacifiers have been shown to reduce the chances of SIDS.
