Dark Demon (Jove) by Christine Feehan is the latest in her Carpathian series, so fans of these books will be thrilled, I'm sure. Natalya is a killer, though she justifies it by killing those who have killed others. Vikirnoff should be her enemy, but, this being a romance, things don't always work out that way. I'm not a Carpathian fan, so this one didn't do anything for me, but I know there are a lot of romance readers out there who feel differently.
Past Redemption (Signet Eclipse) by Savannah Russe is next, with the second in her Darkwing Chronicles. I didn't pick the first one up, because it didn't sound like my kind of story when I looked at it last year. I was right. Daphne Urban's latest mission for the U.S. government is to find out where a deadly new drug is coming from. Even if this one wasn't told in first person, it wouldn't be for me. And it seems to me that this is going to be a series best read in order from the beginning so you can keep track of everyone.
Master of Wolves (Berkley) by Angela Knight is up next, with the latest in her Knights of the Round Table books, this time with Jim London, werewolf and immortal off to find out what really happened to his best friend, posing as a police dog to work with Faith Weston, police officer. Again, not one of my favorite series--I like my Arthurian mythology just fine without the knights becoming vampires and werewolves--but I know other readers disagree.
The Vampire's Seduction (Del Ray) by Raven Hart is last, and be warned, this one is not a romance. This is a collaboration between the late Virginia Ellis and Susan Goggins, founding partners of the small press Belle Books. This one has vampire William Cuyler Thorne fighting the vampire who created him, and using a little southern voodoo to do it. Not for the faint of heart (or weak of stomach).
