The rug-making newsletter will keep you up to date on new articles published on this subject at Bellaonine.com.
Each newsletter will feature the most current article that was published and will give you a one-line description of what is contained in the article.
Articles will deal with many kinds of rug making from around the globe. My specialties are oriental rugs and knitted rugs. However, my interests are many and my research skills thorough, as I have a solid background in parliamentary publications in Canada.
So far I have published articles on oriental design, designs for knitted rugs, braided rugs, hooked rugs and oilcloth.
I intend to journey to rug hooking artists in Montreal and will visits exhibits whenever I can to tell you what is being produced today.
For those interested in the history of rug making, I will devote some time to describe the origins of rug making both on this and other continents. There is a rich history to experience and share with others.
The links in the newsletter will give you access to the rug making site, from where you are able to explore several categories of rug making as well as a how-to section and a Treasure Trove, where I hide interesting tidbits of information and special finds.
Generally the newsletter will be published once every one or two weeks, and is the intro to the latest article. It may contain timely notes about upcoming events, special festivities and reminders about what is applicable to a specific season, even though that may be a different kind of season depending on your location on this planet.
I may ask for your input on what is of interest to you. You may email me with answers to these questions, or enter your comments into the box at the end of the article on the web site. You can also post to the forum so that others can participate, and we can benefit from each other's experiences.
It is my intention send a postcard in reply to comments from the comment box on the site. These postcards feature an artistic interpretation of one of my rug designs and will also contain the reply to your answer. This feature is currently being tested. Feel free to try it out.
