Using Your Timer
For your family group photos you might want to consider setting up your camera with the timer. Be sure to read the directions and do a few practice shots before Easter morning. In our community there are several beautifully decorated areas where we like to go for our Easter Morning photo shoots! I have been known to prop my camer up on the car and set the timer for some great family photos!

Use the sunlight!
We like to take our Easter photos outside...afterall we have been cooped up all winter and Easter is the perfect time for beautiful spring photos! Make sure the sun is not directly in front of you...shining in eyes. You also do not want the sun directly behind you or you will have a nice big brite glare in your photo. At midday, the sun is overhead and casts unpleasant facial shadows so be sure to use the camera's flash to lighten harsh facial shadows. Early and late in the day, position your subject so the sun strikes only one side of the face. With one side of the face brightly lit and the other side in shadow, you will create a dramatic effect. To reduce the shadow effect, use fill flash.

If you choose to take inside pictures remember that your flash will only work up to 10ft away. That is basically 3 big steps. Much farther than that and your flash will not work properly.

I hope that you get lots of GREAT Easter photos! Stay tuned for some great Easter layouts!
