English Garden flowers for April

Here is a list of flowers that you could expect to see in bloom in an English Garden during April.

Some may be just finishing others just bursting into bloom – but they all will have flowers on in April.

Why not check out the list and see if you could fit any of these plants into your garden for a bit of colour in the spring.

Anemone blanda comes in whites, reds, blues and pinks
Aubrieta – marvellous for a sunny spot
Bergenias
Comfrey – good for making compost with after it has finished flowering

Crocus –plant them in rings around shrubs or trees.
Daffodils
Dog's-tooth violet

Forsythia

Grape hyacinths – these come in blues and whites

Hellebores

Iris reticulate

Lungwort or Pulmonaria comes with white, red or blue flowers
Magnolias make large shrubs or trees and need shelter from late frosts to do their best, but beautiful big blooms reward you for your trouble!

Pansies – these hardy little plants will flower from late winter well into late spring every year.
