Donell Jones is a talented songwriter and singer. It’s been a few years since he’s released a solo album and if the current single is any indication of what to expect from “Journey of A Gemini,” then listeners are in for a real treat.
Singers come and go, but Donell Jones seems to have staying power. Jones explains why he feels he’s had longevity in this business. “I’ve stayed true to my music and I sing heartfelt songs with a message.”
With producers Jermaine Dupree, Tim & Bob, The Underdogs and several others, Jones is looking forward to the June 20th release. “I feel good about it,” Jones exclaims.
“This time around we did things a little different. Fifty percent of the album was written by others,” says Jones about his new CD.
Trying to pick a favorite song off your own CD is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child. One song however Jones think women will love is “Portrait of a Woman.” Some men might not agree with the lyrics, but he expresses himself and tries to make amends for why some men treat women wrong.
Besides working on his new album, Jones has been busy being a dad to his three daughters.
Jones sings and writes about romance, so how does Jones define romance? “Romance is about love. It’s about two people sharing intimate moments expressing that love,” Jones states.

It depends. Nice legs, then a dress. Nice butt, then a pair of jeans.
Donell Jones leaves this tip for women who are looking for ways to make their man feel special. “Draw his bath water and be in the tub waiting on him when he gets home.”
