Discover Rapt Elegance – Wire Wrapped Jewelry

If you collect wire wrapped and wire sculpture jewelry a visit to Rapt Elegance presents a great opportunity to add to your collection. Perhaps you have already discovered artist Sue Lindsey’s work as she is one of the jewelry artists featured in the publication, Designer Jewelry Showcase 2007. Sue has also begun teaching wire wrapped jewelry classes at Star Beads in Vienna, Virginia and now sells her wearable works of art online to national and international customers through here website at www.raptelegance.com

In addition to sterling silver which is solid silver and rolled gold wire which is a gold-filled wire with a gold layer at least 100 times thicker than plating over a solder fill, Sue Lindsey uses rose gold (or red gold) wire to create her wire wrapped jewelry. Rose gold is a gold/copper alloy with a reddish color. It does not discolor like pure copper wire, but maintains its finish like rolled gold wire. Rose gold is also a gold-filled wire with a thick coating of rose gold over a base metal core.

Rapt Elegance features a wide selection of pendants, earrings, pendant and earring sets, rings, neck rings, and pendants and cuff links for men. If you are a collector, you will find Sue Lindsey’s elegant designs intriguing. Here are a few examples of what you will find:

Such crystals occur either in the cavities of mineral-veins and in granitic rocks, or as a lining in agate geodes.)

Care of Wire Wrapped Jewelry
Like all jewelry, wire wrapped jewelry will become dirty with wear. Rolled gold and rose gold pieces can be cleaned with a regular jewelry cleaner - use a small amount of cleaner and a soft brush to restore the original sparkle to your wire wrapped pieces. Sterling silver jewelry can tarnish, just like any other sterling silver object. Jewelry cleaner often is enough to restore the sparkle. However, if the wire wrapped jewelry piece contains opal or pearl, you need to take special care if you use silver polish on your piece. "Jewel Brite" jewelry cleaner is a safe cleaner for both pearls and opals and does a marvelous job restoring the beauty of your wire wrapped jewelry. This product is available for purchase at Rapt Elegance.
