Da Vinci Code Diet

The Diet Code is basically a mediterranean diet consisting of 1 part grain, 2 parts protein, 3 parts vegetable/fruit. Does that sound revolutionary to you? The Diet Code also claims to unveil a list of "renaissance foods" that will magically strip fat and weight off your body. Hmmm, let me guess, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats and protein? Are you buying this yet?

Why It Works
The Diet Code : Revolutionary Weight Loss Secrets from Da Vinci and the Golden Ratio is an interesting book if you're into that sort of thing and it definitely promotes a healthy way of eating that is effective for weight loss but it is certainly not revolutionary. Could you do this diet for life? Yes! Does it work? Yes, because it's about all about balance, but that doesn't mean it will work for you!

Should You Try It
Do you really need to buy a book containing complicated mathematical jargon to tell you how to incorporate the mediterranean diet along with the plate method into your lifestyle? If this book is going to inspire you to get healthy then by all means get it and follow it but don't expect any revolutionary, secret, or renaissance info. The author and publishers are simply piggy-backing off the success of the Da Vinci Code book and movie and like all those infommercials you watch on t.v. they are using the most effective words to get you to buy. It is just another evil marketing campaign meant to prey on your insecurities and your desire to get that weight off for bikini season. You can probably get the diet online for free and the plate method of eating has been written about extensively as well. All you have to do is search for it here or on any other weight loss site.

What You Really Need To Know
So what you really need to ask yourself is whether this way of eating is going to work for you and does following a diet that is getting major press right now sound more appealing than actually doing the work of finding what is going to work for you long term. How much of your time are you willing to waste on yet another diet that will only yield temporary results for you? Wouldn't you rather find out what really works for your body long term?
