Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota is making it easier and more attractive to use its services starting this month.
Nestled among upscale cafes, wine cellars, and fashion shops, Planned Parenthood has opened a boutique-style Express Care clinic in Woodbury, Minnesota. Enticing potential clients with jewelry, herbal tea, scented oils, lotions, birth control accessories, books, and - in the near future - a spa menu, the new clinic will offer birth control solutions as well as referrals to abortion services in other clinics to women that can pay out of pocket. STD screening and pregnancy testing will also be available.
Catering to the affluent women of the area, the Express Care clinic removes the worry of traceable birth control and abortion services (i.e. an insurance bill accessible by husbands/partners) for the women that can pay for it.
This Express Care clinic follows in the footsteps of some of Planned Parenthoodís more upscale locations popping up around the country. They intend to bring their brand of services to a wider demographic by drawing in women with luxury services along with health care. When confronted by abortion protesters, they claim their goal is to lower abortion rates. By making their services more widespread, I donít see how any intelligent person can believe that.
