Show and Tell Ideas A to Z

Recently I received an email from a reader asking for show and tell ideas that started with all of the letters of the alphabet. This particular parent was stuck on finding something for their child to share for the letter K. This great question led me to writing this article, and coming up with several show and tell items for the letters A to Z!

A- apple sauce (homemade), ants in a jar, Arthur books

B- balls, biscuits (you can make these with your preschooler, too) and baby dolls

C- cat (stuffed or real), Clifford books, crayons

D- dog (stuffed or real), dreidel, dolls and doll clothes

E- Easter eggs (plastic works, too), erasers and the Elefun Game

F- fish (real or pretend), fiddle, food groups information (perfect to incorporate nutrition into show and tell)

G- green things, google eyes, grapes, gerbil

H- harmonica, hamster and Harry the Dirty Dog books

I- ice cream, icicles, inchworm

J- jumping beans, jelly beans and a jump rope

K- kite, kangaroo toys (stuffed, figures or even pictures of), keys

L- lemonade, limes, lemons, lollipops, lizard

M- Max and Ruby books, meal worms, mug (for tea, maybe a vacation mug)

N- nightlight, Nerf ball, noodles

O- ocean themed items (think octopus), ores, oatmeal

P- paddle ball, popcorn, paint

Q- quince (fruit), quiet things, quicksand (in a jar)

R- raindrops (in a jar, you can do experiments on this, too), rain boots, rice, ribbons, Roo toys (Winnie the Pooh), rabbit (stuffed or real)

S- salamander, song lyrics, sweets, stickers

T- tape, turtle, trading cards, topiary

U- umbrella, u shaped items (like a horseshoe) and units of measurement (ruler)

V- vines, vacation pictures, voting ballot

W- water play items (for outside), whisk, wheels and wheat

X- x-ray picture, X marks the spot on a drawn treasure map, x/o tic tac toe

Y- yellow things and yams

Z- zebra toys (stuffed, figures, pictures, etc.), zoo things, zipper

Of course you will need to be vigilant about checking on student allergies, for both pets and foods!
