Does competition help you get motivated in your weight loss goals? Come join our weight loss challenge. Lose the most weight by May 1st, and win a $50 gift certificate from Amazon.com!
I'm normally not a competitive sort, but I've had several people ask me to sponsor a "Biggest Loser" type of competition in our low carb forums, to get them motivated. The idea being that each of us would post our starting weight, and then whoever lost the most weight by say May 1st would get a prize.
I am happy to donate a $50 Amazon gift certificate towards this project!
We will take in entries up through February 1st. To join in our challenge, please send me an email with your current weight and a current photo of you. That way we fairly document the process. You don't have to share either one with the group, although you can if it helps to motivate you!
We will want you to post weekly with the amount of weight you've lost, so that we can gauge how people are doing. You don't have to follow the low carb diet, although of course I highly recommend it as being the most healthy way to lose weight :) You can follow any diet and exercise plan you wish! We'll give you feedback, support, encouragement and motivation to stay with your plans and to keep losing the weight.
The aim here is NOT to dangerously dump pounds from your body in any sort of risky way. The aim is to help you build the schedule and resolution to stay with a healthy eating plan, week after week, to reach your long term goals. Studies show that if you stick with a new lifestyle change for a few weeks, it becomes to seem normal and a regular part of your way of life. Together we can help you do that with healthy eating and enjoyable exercise.
