How often do you dread getting into your vehicle in the dead of winter when the temperatures drop below freezing?
Once you get into the icebox, I mean car, it can take five to ten minutes before it gets warm enough for you to be comfortable.
If you live in warmer climates, you may have the opposite problem as your car may feel like you're climbing into an oven during peak hours when the sun is strongest.
If you haven't purchased a remote vehicle starter, now may be a great time to do so. You simply press a button on your key ring from the comfort of your home or office and your vehicle automatically starts.
A remote vehicle starter works by sending an encrypted signal from your handset when you press a button, to the installed starter equipment in your vehicle. Encrypted means that the signal is unrecognizable to any other piece of equipment insuring that only the person with the handset can start the vehicle.
The remote starter inside the engine compartment is connected to the ignition switch, the starter and some other electronics that turn on when they receive the signal.
You will have left the heater on in the winter or the air conditioner in the summer so that when the car is started, these systems come on as if you were in the car controlling them.
Some units cause lights in the vehicle to blink on and off when the car is started so that you know the vehicle is on. Most of the systems also automatically lock the vehicles doors so that nobody can enter the vehicle without the keys.
The other neat feature that most remote starting systems have is that even if someone was in the car when the engine is started, they would need the actual car keys to be placed into the ignition in order to move the vehicle.
If someone tried to put the car in gear and step on the gas pedal, the vehicle would shut off.
There are other electronic devices in the car that can be controlled with the remote starter also such as stereo, alarms, etc., but the more features you have the more you'll spend.
You can purchase the remote starter system from an auto electronics store and have them or a dependable auto mechanic that knows auto electronics install it.
You can also purchase a remote start system more affordably online from a store like Best Buy. They are a national chain and they stand behind the products that they sell.
So donít fret getting into your vehicle on those blustery cold winter days or the scorching heat during the summer. Get yourself a remote car starter and youíll like your car even more!
