This new feature presents an electronic version of my new Terra Tarot Deck, one card at a time. The eleventh card available for download is The Nine of Swords.

The Nine of Swords speaks of emotional troubles of a psychological nature, born of our fears and self doubts. In reality, there may not be any reason for this suffering, except for the person's inner demons. This card warns us to abandon negative thinking, and to believe and have faith in our future, based on our positivity and ability to manifest clear, concrete goals and visions. We need to move beyond the inner dialogue that tells us that we 'can't' and embrace wholeheartedly the notions of hope, fortitude and achievement.
The symbology used in my rendition of the Nine of Swords shows a crying woman, who has just awakened from a nightmare, who finds herself alone and in a lonely landscape.
Since the theme of this deck is Terra, our Mother Earth, I elected to begin this illustration using a primitive landscape that showcases piercing mountains that also point straight up into the clear blueish purple sky. The foreground consists of a vast sandy desert plain that nicely contrasts the sky with its rich golden tones.
Nine sword symbols encircle the head of the woman, all point straight up to the sky, calling her to look up and gather her strength. At the middle top, a decorative Merkaba which represents the metaphysical spirit "vehicle" that becomes activated as we balance our chakras, meridians, and lifeforce brings hope also calls to her. At the bottom, lies the elemental Air symbol to the left, and the Male gender symbol, since the Swords are considered to be masculine in nature.
