A Grandmother's Guide to Praying For Her Family, by Nancy Ann Yeager, is a treasure. Every page contains a complete devotional, including scripture verse, application and suggested prayer - 260 in all. They are short and to the point. What a great way for a busy woman to start a habit of regular prayer for her family. I found many of the devotionals very inspiring as they reminded me to pray for the forgotten details of life.
Each page has a suitable title that is indexed in the front of the book, making it easy to find if you have a special need to pray about.
I looked up "Do Not Follow the Crowd" and was directed to page 139.
Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. Exodus 23:2
Sin can creep into our lives so subtly that without much thought we are watching a morally depraved TV show, accepting living arrangements outside of marriage, and playing golf on Sunday mornings. Just because everybody is doing it doesn't make it right. Read your Bible so you know what God expects, and stop following the crowd.
Lord, protect my grandchildren from peer pressure to do wrong. Direct them to follow you. Amen
Another page reminded me that at every meeting, phone call or email I should tell my children and grandchildren that I love them and more importantly, that God loves them. They are His treasured possession.
I am a visual person. This book is lovely. Soft colors and full color pictures illustrate the book. A ribbon marks your place. The book's compact size is suitable to tuck into a handbag or perfect for a bedside table all making it a great gift book for grandparent's day, mother's day or any day.
